The Maslov Oral Health Initiative is proud to announce its first community outreach project.
On June 5, 2026, founder Igor Maslov, alongside his best friends Jack Cote, Kate Mirsky, and Keira Kopmann, donated 50 oral health kits to the Barrhaven Food Cupboard.
Each kit included a toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, and a bilingual educational handout containing oral health information and practical tips to support healthy daily habits.
This first initiative holds special meaning for Igor. After arriving in Canada following the outbreak of war in Ukraine, Barrhaven became much more than a place to liveβit became a community that helped him rebuild his life. The friends, teachers, neighbours, and volunteers he met in Barrhaven played an important role in helping him settle into a new country and establish his first home.
For that reason, it was important that the Maslov Oral Health Initiative begin its journey by giving back to a community that has given so much in return.
Access to basic oral hygiene supplies remains an overlooked but important part of overall health and well-being. Through this initiative, we hope to promote preventive oral health practices while helping reduce barriers to essential dental care products for individuals and families in need.
We are grateful to the Barrhaven Food Cupboard for providing the opportunity to contribute to their work and for the impact they continue to make in the community. As a volunteer-run organization, the Barrhaven Food Cupboard serves countless individuals and families through the dedication of community members who generously give their time and energy to help others.
We look forward to exploring future opportunities for collaboration and continuing to support oral health education and access within our community.
Thank you, Barrhaven Food Cupboard, for everything you do. We are honoured to play a small part in supporting your mission.
